The Real Estate and Banking Practice Group of KHLF&H represents a wide variety of local and international clients.  The group has a combined experience of over 125 years in the real estate and banking practice.  Partner, John F. Hotte located in our Fort Lauderdale office leads the practice group, which also includes Partner Richard N. Krinzman, and of-counsel Peter M. Brooke, all of which are Martindale-Hubbell "AV Peer Review Rated".

Our group represents commercial and consumer lending institutions, corporations, landlords and tenants, non-profit organizations, investment banking firms, small business investment companies, syndicated partnerships and governmental agencies, land owners, real estate developers and real estate investors (both institutional and private) in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate transactions.  The group has vast experience in land acquisitions and sales, business acquisition and sale, business mergers, lease negotiations (office, shopping center and ground leases), lease renewals, development and site plan approvals, loan work out and third party financing. As part of its representation of real estate developers, the group also handles construction, development, conduit and other forms of bridge and permanent financing transactions. Depending on our client’s needs, we also offer advise and assist in the selection of entity forms such as corporations, limited partnerships, general partnerships, limited liability companies, and limited liability partnerships, entity creation, negotiation of shareholder, operating  and partnership agreements, buy/sell agreements, and other general business matters. 

The practice group also represents purchasers and sellers in residential transactions throughout the State of Florida. As authorized agents for nearly all of the nation’s largest title companies as Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company, Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund and WFG National Title Insurance Company,  KHLF&H has written title policies for hotels, development projects, commercial developments, retail and office projects as well as luxury homes throughout Florida.  In the financing area, the practice group handles construction, commercial, leasehold and residential loans for lenders including agents for multi-lender groups, and borrowers. In addition to our practice in financing transactions, we represent clients with regard to project acquisition and development, leasehold financing, credit enhancement, leverage buyout transactions and workout transactions for lenders and borrowers as well as 1031 Exchanges. 

In addition to KHLF&H legal representation of its clients, the firm also provides title, escrow and closing services through its title and escrow company, Grande Title & Escrow, LLC.  Grande Title & Escrow has performed real estate closings for buyers, sellers, commercial tenants, franchisees and mortgage lenders and issues title insurance policies for properties throughout Florida.  Grande Title and Escrow has worked hand and hand with local and national brokers and real estate agents in assuring excellent service to their respective clients in closing their real estate transactions.
