Michael A. Cohn, a Partner in KHL's Tampa Bay office, is a commercial litigator, with a specialty in title insurance-related claims, including mortgage and title defects, lien priority issues, fraud and identity theft, recoupment actions and countless other variations. Michael represents title insurance underwriters, their insureds and title insurance agents. In addition to his litigation practice, Michael also serves as a mediator.

Michael's legal and prior professional experience gives him a practical, business-minded perspective, which is helpful in both his litigation and mediation practices.

Prior to his firm merging with KHL Law, Michael worked for a large, state-wide firm as a commercial litigator where he began to develop a background in real estate litigation as well. Since joining his current firm, Michael's practice has been primarily real estate and title insurance-related litigation matters.

Michael earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from the Nova Southeastern Law University in 1991, where he served on the Law Review and Moot Court. Prior to going to law school, he was a successful businessman for over 12 years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in English and Theater from Rutgers College in 1974. He is admitted to practice in Florida state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Michael is also a Supreme Court of Florida Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.

Michael is a member of the Clearwater Bar Association and the Florida Land Title Association.
