Joanna Plessis, a Partner in KHL's Miami office, represents developers, private lenders, institutional lenders, and other clients engaged in complex real estate transactions. Her practice spans all aspects of commercial real estate, including negotiating purchase and sale agreements, reviewing and resolving title and survey matters, preparing and analyzing sophisticated loan documents, and other lender/mortgage matters. She regularly handles acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and development-related matters across a wide range of asset classes.

With a detail-oriented approach and deep industry knowledge, Joanna advises clients through every phase of a transaction, from initial structuring to closing, ensuring that deals are executed efficiently and strategically. She enjoys the puzzle-aspect of legal matters and handles her cases with open lines of communication, often with some humor sprinkled in.

In addition to English, she is also fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Italian, allowing her to work seamlessly with a diverse range of clients. Prior to working at KHL Law, Joanna worked at a small, boutique law firm for 14 years.

Joanna earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and her undergraduate degree from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She is admitted to practice in Florida state courts.
